RISE TI-Gateway approved by gematik

RISE was the first provider to obtain approval for the RISE TI gateway and is starting immediately with the controlled commissioning and subsequent rollout.

„We are delighted to be the first manufacturer to receive approval for our RISE TI gateway. The RISE TI gateway is the latest and most modern option for connecting to the TI.“

Dr. Christian Schanes, Member of the Management at RISE

The technology manufacturer RISE (Research Industrial Systems Engineering) is the first provider on the market to receive gematik approval for the RISE TI gateway. After several user groups have already successfully tested the RISE TI gateway in the friendly user test, the changeover to productive operation can now take place by means of controlled commissioning.

With the approval of the RISE TI gateway, service providers such as hospitals and care facilities, dental and medical practices, physiotherapists and midwives now have a future-proof, simple and stable option for connecting to the telematics infrastructure (TI).

Dr. Christian Schanes, member of the RISE management board, emphasizes the importance of this approval: "We are delighted to be the first manufacturer to receive approval for our RISE TI gateway. The RISE TI gateway is the latest and most modern option for connecting to the TI. This will be of immense benefit to service providers and will also benefit mobile user groups. As a technology manufacturer, we are proud to be an innovator and launch a new solution in another area of the telematics infrastructure. Our aim is to make it as easy as possible for service providers to connect to the TI so that they can focus on providing care to their patients."

TI gateway replaces previously required on-site connectors and makes it easier for service providers to connect to the telematics infrastructure

The RISE TI gateway enables a modern, software-based connection to the telematics infrastructure - without additional hardware-based connectors on site. The connector, and thus the new high-speed connector (HSK), is relocated to the data center and maintenance and operation are handled by the provider. Service providers are connected to the RISE high-speed connector using an access module. The RISE HSK has a stable and redundant connection to the TI via a secure central access point (SZZP). The flexible and scalable infrastructure of the RISE TI gateway forms the basis for future developments and innovations in the healthcare sector, allowing further TI services to be easily connected to the facility without the need for additional hardware or software.

Service providers benefit from the new generation of connection to the TI In future, service providers will be relieved by the connection to the TI via the RISE TI gateway. The use of high-speed connectors in secure data centers increases operational security and availability. It enables access to digital healthcare services such as e-prescriptions and electronic patient files and reduces the need for card terminals. Further expansion stages will support the secure storage of organizational identities and practice ID cards, which will also eliminate the need for chip cards (SMC-Bs) in practices. The flexible architecture facilitates scalability and adaptation to future requirements, while the integration of configuration and application options ensures efficient use of TI services.

About RISE (Research Industrial Systems Engineering):

RISE has played a leading role in the development of the telematics infrastructure (TI) in the German healthcare system since 2006 and has brought numerous components and services to approval. RISE is currently responsible for the ongoing expansion of the RISE connector, the development of 25 million highly secure patient records for more than 80 health insurance companies, a service for secure e-mail communication between doctors (KIM), the TI's central identity provider (IDP) for access control to specialist services such as electronic prescriptions (e-prescriptions), several federated IDPs and other special components in the TI. RISE supplies medical practices, pharmacies and hospitals with infrastructure software and provides end-to-end maintenance and further development. In addition to ePA deliveries to statutory health insurers, RISE equips a growing number of private health insurance customers with ePA technology and federated IDPs.

RISE enables partners to be solid innovators and digital transformers while integrating good old process and legacy knowledge from established companies and institutions.

RISE supplies business partners as a technology manufacturer or integrator and generally leaves the broadband communication to its customers and partners. Please send detailed information on specialist, project, technology and research topics by e-mail to:
