Eleven more private health insurers will be connected to the TI through RISE.

Eleven more private health insurers (PKVs) will be connected to the telematics infrastructure (TI) through RISE.

This will enable them to start introducing the sectoral identity provider (IDP), online check-in and e-prescription and offer their private policyholders a range of new digital services.

What are the benefits for private policyholders of participating private health insurers?

Thanks to the health ID, which is based on the sectoral IDP from RISE, privately insured persons will benefit from the following functions in future:

  • Digital identification at the doctor: privately insured persons can simply identify themselves digitally and without a physical health card (eGK) at the doctor's surgery.

  • Secure data transmission: The health insurance number (KVNR) and other master data are transmitted securely and directly to the doctor's surgery.

  • Efficient use of e-prescriptions: E-prescriptions can be conveniently received digitally, redeemed and submitted directly to the health insurance company for reimbursement.

Private health insurers can thus improve and simplify their healthcare applications for their fully insured customers and increase the use of digital applications.
