RISE connects further private health insurers to the telematics infrastructure
„We at RISE are pleased to be able to connect a further eleven private health insurers to the telematics infrastructure in addition to the four private health insurers already connected.“
The technology manufacturer RISE (Research Industrial Systems Engineering) has been able to win eleven more private health insurers (PKVs) for participation in the pioneering TI ecosystem (telematics infrastructure).
The introductory project, which was launched recently, will connect eleven further private health insurers of different sizes to the telematics infrastructure applications. Once the project has been completed in 2025, privately insured persons from the participating private health insurers will be able to identify themselves to the doctor using the health ID based on the RISE sectoral IDP without a health card (eGK) and securely transmit their health insurance number (KVNR) and other master data to the doctor's practice. After successful patient verification at the doctor's, e-prescriptions can be issued, which can be redeemed by the insured person and submitted to the health insurer for reimbursement.
All participating private health insurance companies see the project as an important digitalization step towards improving and simplifying healthcare applications for their fully insured customers, as well as strengthening their future viability and competitiveness. Other TI applications, such as the RISE Implant Register Reporting Service, Communication in Medicine (KIM) and the TI Messenger (TIM) are also available and will be considered as part of the implementation project as required.
"The joint project builds on the experience of the four successful ePA implementation projects with our existing private health insurance customers and will strengthen the further use of digital applications of the telematics infrastructure among private insurance customers," Klaus Klenner, Head of the Private Health Insurance Program at RISE, is convinced.
"We at RISE are delighted to be able to connect a further eleven private health insurers to the telematics infrastructure in addition to the four private health insurers already connected and thus establish the basis for further applications such as ePA for All and TIM," emphasizes Dr. Christian Schanes, Head of Telematics and member of the RISE Management Board. "We would like to thank our customers for their trust and are convinced that together we can advance the German healthcare infrastructure with a view to e-health as a whole and provide people with modern healthcare."
