Three features combined in a single product:

• The debit card mobile on each smart phone, throughout Austria
• The integration of all banks and mobile operators in a highly secure data space, which guarantees the privacy of all data and
• The creation of a regional data pool (“regional google”), which manages the customer data for the business partners in the industry, mobile operators and banks in favour of each citizen

The basic function “debit card on the mobile phone” can be used since October 2015 on payment terminals in the retail sector worldwide. The developed technology connects all banks and all mobile operators in Austria. In addition, the system provides a solid foundation for a secure national data pool, where all relevant data remains in Austria. Users are and stay in control of their own personal data. For this innovation project, RISE received the Federal State Award in Consulting and Information Technology (Staatspreis Consulting für Unternehmensberatung und Informationstechnologie) as inventor, advisor and architect of the solution. The client was Payment Service Austria GmbH. The award ceremony took place at the Hofburg in Vienna, presented by the Minister of Economy, Vice Chancellor Dr. Reinhold Mitterlehner on 17 November in 2016.
